The Peterborough Branch has over 400 members, covering a huge range of people affected by the autistic spectrum. From parents and grandparents of small children, to recently diagnosed adults, to professionals working with people on the autistic spectrum. You do not have to meet any criteria to join our group, we welcome anyone affected by autism.
Our members come from a very wide area surrounding Peterborough, covering Cambridgeshire and Fenland, South Lincolnshire, and parts of Northamptonshire. We have members with experience of the different health and education authorities which cover this area.
We do not charge a membership fee however you can join the National Autistic Society with the benefits that brings and select for part of your membership to go to your local group. Obviously running such a large group is costly and donations are always welcome.
The Peterborough group hold a variety of events to suit its varied membership:
- fun family evenings at Activity World and Laser Force,
- daytime and evening support meetings,
- regular talks and seminars about the condition,
- conferences and training events.
